4 Tucks Blouse Cutting
Previously, we have seen the crop top & princess cut blouse cutting.
Today we will see 4 tucks blouse cutting.
The method of sleeve cutting and back side will be the same for any blouse.
That is, the cutting of the back side has to be done by determining the shoulder and armhole according to the length of the back neck.
If there is a deep neck blouse, the same amount of shoulder and armhole is taken in it, the armhole remains the same in princess cut blouse or 4 tucks blouse.
Today we will see how to do 4 tucks blouse cutting with yoke in deep neck blouse.
Required Measurements For 4 Tucks Blouse Cutting:
Today we will learn how to do a princess cut with a deep back neck.
Here is the method to take body measurements.
- Length – measure from shoulder to waist
- Shoulder – measure from the back side from left to right covering the whole shoulder
- Upper Chest – measure from the upper part of the breast in a round
- Lower Chest – measure on the breast in a round
- Waist – measure the thinnest part of the waist and take measurements in round
- The sleeve-cutting method is the same for every garment.
Steps with figure:
- Now after taking the updated measurement take a sample of any measurement to know how much more fabric to cut for sewing.
- Length: 15″
- Shoulder: 15″
- Upper Chest: 36″
- Lowe Chest: 39″
- Waist: 32″
- Frontside Neck: 6″
- Backside Neck: 11″
- Back side cutting is to be taken same as shown in princess cut blouse cutting.
- First cut the sleeve and cut the back side of the paper and match the armhole by cutting the armhole.
- We will do the paper cutting as per the figure(a) shown below.
- Draw the front part in the paper as shown in the figure(a), draw both the curve of the armhole and draw the yoke below the front and back.
- All the calculations of the measurements are same as princess cut blouse.
- Draw the yoke below the front and back, cut the folded part in the paper and separate the two papers so that the two parts of the front and back will become, as explained in figure(b).
- Counting the bottom part of the paper as the back part and drawing the length of the back neck will prepare the sample piece of blouse.
- Extend the bottom length by 1″ by placing the cutting where the yoke comes out in the front over another paper.
- Similarly, cutting the front part in the armhole in the part that comes out above the yoke.
- Then increase the measurement of tucks by placing another paper on top, as shown in below figure(d).
- The sample part appears in the paper.
- Place the sample on another paper and increase it for four tucks.
- Take a measurement of 10.5″ above the main tucks and 4.5″ from the button strip and take 1″ larger tucks, as depicted in figure(d).
- Then take 0.25″ to 2.5″ long tucks in the armhole.
- Now as shown in figure(d), take both the side tucks 0.5″ and take them 1.5″ away from the main tucks.
Objectives:
- The designer blouse and lehenga choli have more princess cut & 4 tucks blouse.
- In all the blouses, the 4 tucks cut is done using the same method, but the shoulder and armhole are different according to the pattern and length of the back neck.
- The measurement of the shoulder and armhole has changed.
- The rules are also different with every different pattern.
