Halter neck is a style of women’s clothing strap that runs from the front of the garment around the back of the neck, generally leaving the upper back uncovered.
Firstly, we have learned the regular neck pattern for kurti.
Secondly, we have learned the stand collar neck pattern for a regular kurti.
At this time, we will learn the halter collar(high neck) pattern.
A halter neck looks like a collar but does not require a separate collar.
Follow these few steps for the same:
CUTTING METHOD:
- For the blouse or kurti cutting method, shoulder measurement is taken from the body.
- The shoulder measurement is kept in the same way as in a collared kurti.
- Let’s take an example,
- Shoulder: 16″
- Chest: 36″
- The width of the neck is considered to be 1/12 of the chest.
- Neck widh = 36″/12 = 3″
- Draw a rectangle, keeping the neck width 3″ and neck length 6″-6.5″, as referred to in the below figure(a).
- The shoulder is 16″, you should keep half of that in the cutting.
- Shoulder = 16″/2 = 8″
- Leave a space of 3.5″ above the line of the shoulder, in which the belt of the neck is formed, as shown in figure(a).
- Shape the neck so that a 1.5″ belt is formed, leaving 1″ from the folded side.
- Draw, as shown in the figure(a).
- Do not cut in the backside or neck, keep a straight line.
STITCHING METHOD:
- For stitching, make a regular neck by placing the canvas on the front neck part.
- In this way, the neck will be shaped.
- After making the neck, cut the part of the belt in the back shoulder along with the part of the neck and stitch it from the other side.
Other Objectives:
- The halter collar is suited in a blouse, kurti, or one-piece, including a shoulderless neck pattern.
- Different changes can be made in the neck shape.
