Umbrella Flare Palazzo Cutting
Previously, we have already learned the cutting methods of straight pant, dhoti pant & sharara pant.
Including full patiala/khajuri salwar, simple salwar & simple salwar part-2.
Here we are going to learn an easy method for umbrella flare palazzo cutting with the body measurements.
Once, we learned palazzo pant & umbrella skirt cutting.
First of all, take a soft(e.g. rayon, silk, etc.) or georgette fabric to make an umbrella flare palazzo.
Secondly, for making an umbrella flare palazzo, we will take 2.5-3m of fabric with a 42″ width in it.
In this, the fabric is made thinner so the lining(astar) is used with it.
A crepe lining looks better in an umbrella flare palazzo.
Required Measurements For Umbrella Flare Palazzo Cutting:
Here is the method to take body measurements.
- Full Length – from the waist till the length to be kept
- Waist – all-around measurement in the waist area
- Seat – full rotating measure in part of the seat
Method:
- For cutting, the fabric is kept in 1 fold and folded into a triangle i.e. the cross side of the triangle will be 2 folds, as shown in figure(a).
Steps with the figure:
- Let’s take an example with measurements as given below:
- Length: 40″
- Waist: 36″
- Seat: 42″
- For cutting, the belt has to be cut separately, so if you want to keep the length of 40″, then keep 40″ in cutting.
- Therefore, as much as the belt comes, it goes into bending and sewing.
- For the waist measurement, take 1/4 of the waist and add 1″ to that.
- Waist measurement = 36″/4 = 9″+1 = 10″
- Then cut in rounds so that the entire space is 40″, as shown in figure(a).
- Now, for crotch length, take 1/4 of the seat and ass 1.5″ to that.
- Crotch length = 40″/4 = 10″+1.5 = 11.5″
- Then give the curve of 2″ with that, as explained in figure(a).
- If we want to put a zip then, take 1/4 of the waist in the cutting of the waist.
- If we don’t want to put a zip then, take 1/4 of the seat and add 1″ to the waist.
- Keep the crotch length 0.5″ less on the front side of the umbrella flare palazzo.
- In the cutting of the Umbrella lehenga, like the triangles are joined on the side, similarly, 2 triangles have to be placed in this too.
- The inner lining(astar) should be cut in the same way as regular palazzo pant.
- Now insert the belt and zip from above in the waist area at the front side.
- And putting rubber in the belt at the back side.
- The bottom edge can be bent or overlocked, border at the bottom can also be done.
Other Objectives:
- Umbrella flare palazzo can be paired with regular kurti, crop top, shrug, etc.
- It can also be paired with a peplum.
- We can change the size of the length accordingly; for example, if we reduce the length then it becomes an ankle-length palazzo.
Conclusion:
- I hope this method of umbrella flare palazzo cutting helped you.
